But fortunately we have friends who remind us that our life hasn't gotten anywhere in blog world for months. Which brings me to the present.

I was right - CT WAS fun in the summer. Living near the beach is really nice, and Greenwich does beach very well. If I ever download the pictures from our digital camera (something else that falls under the "needs improvement" category of my life), I will show you just how pretty it is here.

But alas, days are shorter, nights are colder and Paul and I have realized that we are a teensy bit bored here in the suburbs. We have exhausted pizza delivery - I feel like they may start calling us when they don't hear from us in a few days. But it is really the only delivery CT provides. Plus, not only does the dry cleaner not deliver, they don't take credit cards. ???. !!!! What's a girl who lives her life by points to do? It's not that we had a rolicking social life in the city (most nights found me safely ensconced on my couch in front of reality tv du jour). But we had the OPTION of having a rolicking social life. Or at least of eating dinner out past 9 pm. Or getting mexican food for lunch on a Saturday. So, yes, there could be some improvements. On the other hand.

It is absolutely delightful to have so much space. Beyond delightful. And windows that look out on grass and trees! And neighbors only next door to you rather than on both sides, above, and below! And two cars! (more on that one to come) And full size grocery stores and kitchens! And multiple bathrooms! And washer and dryers that work without quarters! And lots and lots of closet space for your shoes!

So there are plenty of good things out here in the suburbs after all. We just need to remember them when we feel that suburban ennui coming on. Any maybe find another dry cleaner.

Has it been since November?

I can't believe that November was the last time I posted anything. Thanks, Eddy, for reminding me that we need to update. So what's been going on? We took a 3 week break on the other side of the world (thought we'd see for ourself what Rob The World Traveler was going on about). Turns out it was pretty cool - New Zealand is so beautiful that it looks fake. Plus it's about 20 million years behind the US, so we got to see what Long Island looked like 20 million years ago in the form of the active glacier at Mt. Cook. I wish they taught science like that in school (I bet lots of parents would volunteer to chaperone the field trip to New Zealand!).

In other news, we have done a Green Acres. We have sold our apartment in the city and are headed to Connecticut on July 1. Paul has been pushing for the acreage plus in the backwoods but my condition is that I have to be able to walk to something. (something that sells some sort of product). I keep telling myself that it is very exciting. It will be very nice to live near the beach for the summer. And have more space for my shoes. But do they have delivery?

Puerto Ugg

So we planned a nice beach vacation in November in Sunny Puerto Rico. Except someone forgot to tell Puerto Rico it was supposed to be sunny. Torrential downpours and 21 mile an hour winds added 4 inches of hair height on all sides of my head. Not pretty. The forecast called for 10 straight days of rain and after one day of tooling around in a rental car to the non-stop 80s music (apparently Loverboy and Rick Springfield never stopped performing - their concert was Friday night in downtown Old San Juan) and losing $5 to the nickel slots, we decided to abandon ship.

So we struck out on the open road and toured some of the South East coast. Thanks to the friends who put us up along the way home! I am now officially in love with Charleston and Paul has decided that Pawley Island might be his destiny. He plans to buy a house there and go around at night switching all the signs to "Paulie" Island. But this trip taught me a lesson that I should have learned from Dorothy long ago. If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own backyard...

Boo!

Happy October everyone - I don't think it is too much of a secret that this is my FAVORITE MONTH of all 12 - not only because it is the month that saw the birth of someone very near and dear to me (me) but also because it ends with HALLOWEEN!

This month was particularly exciting - I got a new job at Time Warner Cable. I am now Director of Promotions for Time Warner Cable and so far the job itself seems pretty fun! It was a star-studded birthday week for me, kicking of with a Saturday night Gala where I met Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Tony Danza, with sightings of Pavarotti (I have no idea how to spell that) and Colin Powell. Who knew Tim McGraw had an Italian mother? Faith Hill is about as cute as it gets. Monday saw me standing the lobby of the Premier of Alfie and gawking at Marisa Tomei, Big from Sex and the City, and all of the fired people from this year's Apprentice. On Tuesday (The Big Day) I spend the afternoon in the recording studio with Vanessa Carlton (no, I wasn't singing). She is recording a song for a new promotion we are doing. I was with her all day on Wednesday as well for a video/photo shoot. Pictures of these to come.

Now we have arrived at Halloween weekend, and while I have an un-Halloween wedding to attend, I am still trying to figure out if I can get to a store to get what I need to make our costumers. We could always bring out last year's Jack and Coke, but there's something in me that just can't do the repeat. I'm a little down because my Halloween buddy picked this month of all months to have a baby of all things any minute now. She is 4 days late. I am finding it very stressful.

Happy Halloween to everyone - I expect lots of good costume pictures on the blogs of all you clever people out there - and no excuse just dressing up "the kids."

White Wearing Sighting

So labor day has come and gone, it is rainy and grey, it LOOKS like it should be cold, and I am wearing tweed.
