White Wearing Sighting

So labor day has come and gone, it is rainy and grey, it LOOKS like it should be cold, and I am wearing tweed. It is Fall. I did see a woman today in white linen pants, and I successfully fought the urge to fashion police her. Winter white can be a grey area, although I think linen has to be out.

We had a lovely labor day weekend in Vermont - very relaxing and fattening, just what a holiday weekend should be. We were sorry to miss Rob, but not the trail of hungover friends he left in his wake...

Awww shucks. I'm sorry I missed you too, but when do I not leave a trail of hungover locals bobbing in my wake? You all will have to join me somewhere on the planet for one of my exotic overseas hangovers sometime. They're a hoot...

I'm headed to Australia in a few days, can you help me out with the rules for wearing white in the Southern Hemisphere? Not that I would wear white no matter what the season, but it is nice to know who is in and who is out of fashion.

Open toed sandals are fine - as long as they are not dead white, and please don't wear them with dark stockings!

Fashion ruling in the other hemisphere is a little trickier - do they even have labor day?
