Puerto Ugg
So we planned a nice beach vacation in November in Sunny Puerto Rico. Except someone forgot to tell Puerto Rico it was supposed to be sunny. Torrential downpours and 21 mile an hour winds added 4 inches of hair height on all sides of my head. Not pretty. The forecast called for 10 straight days of rain and after one day of tooling around in a rental car to the non-stop 80s music (apparently Loverboy and Rick Springfield never stopped performing - their concert was Friday night in downtown Old San Juan) and losing $5 to the nickel slots, we decided to abandon ship.
So we struck out on the open road and toured some of the South East coast. Thanks to the friends who put us up along the way home! I am now officially in love with Charleston and Paul has decided that Pawley Island might be his destiny. He plans to buy a house there and go around at night switching all the signs to "Paulie" Island. But this trip taught me a lesson that I should have learned from Dorothy long ago. If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own backyard...
